Profitline reported that MÁV has stated that the renovation project of fifty stations would start this year both in Budapest and in the countryside. This year, renovation works which made stations more modern and comfortable successfully ended at Keleti Railway Station Budapest, Miskolc Railway Station, as well as in Kecskemét and Újszász.
In the 2019 program, the most important location was the capital’s Keleti Railway Station. Renovation projects made the station more comfortable and modern, allowing passengers to enter a station with many facilities and trains to run more efficiently.

In Zugló, renovation works need to be done as soon as possible. The station serves approximately 1.5 million passengers every year, which means 200–250 trains. Along with this station, at Kőbánya-alsó, the renovation works start at the beginning of 2020. At Kőbánya-Kispest, approximately 3.1 million passengers wait for trains every year. The project aims to renovate this station by the first quarter of 2020.
In the capital, the renovation of Déli Railway Station is also going to start at the beginning of the year by replacing the platforms, lights, and tracks. The three major railway stations of Budapest (Keleti, Nyugati, Déli) also get the most modern LED screen system to inform passengers about arrivals and departures. Debrecen and Szolnok will also get the same facilities.
