Along with this station, at Kőbánya-alsó, the renovation works start at the beginning of 2020. At Kőbánya-Kispest, approximately 3.1 million passengers wait for trains every year. The project aims to renovate this station by the first quarter of 2020.

In the capital, the renovation of Déli Railway Station is also going to start at the beginning of the year by replacing the platforms, lights, and tracks. The three major railway stations of Budapest (Keleti, Nyugati, Déli) also get the most modern LED screen system to inform passengers about arrivals and departures. Debrecen and Szolnok will also get the same facilities.
